COACHING CAREER:

Is in his first season as the D-backs' pitching coach and 29th overall in professional baseball…spent the last 2 seasons (2018-19) as the bullpen coach for the Giants... Prior to his time in San Francisco, spent 7 seasons in the Dodgers' Minor League system (2011-17), serving as pitching coach for Triple-A Oklahoma City ('16-17), Double-A Tulsa ('15), Single-A Adv. Rancho Cucamonga ('12- 14) and Rookie-Level AZL Dodgers ('11).

PRETTY GOOD RESUMÉ:

While working in the Dodgers' organization, he helped develop RHP Pedro Báez, RHP Walker Buehler, RHP Ross Stripling and LHP Julio Urías... In his 7 seasons as Minor League pitching coach, his staff led their leagues in strikeouts 4 times (2011, '15-17) and ranked in the Top 3 in ERA 5 times ('11, '14-17).

PLAYING CAREER:

 Appeared in 567 career games (4 starts) over parts of 11 seasons with the Dodgers (1999-2001), Expos ('02), Padres ('03), Giants ('03-05), D-backs ('05), Marlins ('06), Rockies ('07-09) and Indians ('09)... Did not allow a run in 10 postseason outings (11.1 IP), including 3 scoreless outings (3.1 IP) in the 2007 World Series for Colorado.

PERSONAL:

Married to Jane…has 2 sons, Tyler and Bryce, and 1 daughter, Julia... His sister, Marci, is married to former Major Leaguer and current Marlins broadcaster, Todd Hollandsworth…the pair were teammates on the 2000 Dodgers... Grew up with 7 siblings in Champaign, Ill. FAMILIAR FACES Was teammates with Mike Fetters, Dbacks bullpen coach, with the Dodgers from 2000-01…also made 11 appearances for Triple-A Columbus in the Indians' organization in 2009, a club managed by Torey Lovullo.
