SAN FRANCISCO -- Pablo Sandoval heads the list of alumni expected to appear Wednesday at the San Jose Giants' inaugural "Homecoming Night."
San Jose, home of San Francisco's high-Class A California League affiliate, has been a stop for numerous big league Giants during their ascent through the Minors. That contingent includes Sandoval, who hit .287 in 2007 with San Jose before batting a rousing .359 in 68 games with the club the following season, which prompted his rise to the Majors later that year.
Current Giants scheduled to join Sandoval, the popular third baseman, include right-handers Sergio Romo and Waldis Joaquin, left-hander Dan Runzler and infielder Matt Downs, plus former Giants catcher Guillermo Rodriguez.
San Francisco has a 12:45 p.m. PT series finale against Philadelphia scheduled for Wednesday. That should enable players to arrive at San Jose in time for pregame ceremonies, which are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. San Jose faces Stockton that night beginning at 7.
