DeRosa sits with strained hamstring

LOS ANGELES -- Left fielder Mark DeRosa's strained right hamstring kept him out of Sunday's series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers, though he could be ready to rejoin the lineup Monday at San Diego.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said that DeRosa was available to pinch-hit Sunday.

"He just wouldn't be able to get down the line hard," Bochy said.

DeRosa hurt himself while running from first base to second base during Saturday's game at Los Angeles. He'd probably be itching to get back on the field in San Diego, given his lifetime .364 batting average (12-for-33) at PETCO Park.

Overall this year, DeRosa's hitting .222 with one home runs and five RBIs.
