Sandoval would have had to remain error-free until late September to make a truly serious bid for the all-time record. John Wehner and Jeff Cirillo share the big league mark of 99 consecutive errorless games at third base. Sandoval didn't even break the Giants' record. That belongs to Jim Davenport, who played 97 consecutive errorless games at third base from July 26, 1966, to April 28, 1968.
