NEW YORK -- The Giants successfully challenged a second-inning call in Friday night's series opener against the New York Mets, correctly charging that Mets left fielder Chris Young had not been hit by Ryan Vogelsong's 1-1 pitch.

Video replays showed that the pitch struck Young's bat instead, which caused the ruling to be overturned. Instead of going to first base, Young popped out to shortstop Brandon Crawford.
