Both of Lincecum's no-hitters have come against division-rival San Diego. He joins Cleveland's Addie Joss (no-hit the White Sox in 1908 and '10) as the only other Major Leaguer to throw two career no-hitters against the same team. Lincecum is also the third pitcher in Major League history with multiple Cy Young Awards (2008-09) and multiple no-hitters (Randy Johnson and Sandy Koufax).
Lincecum and Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson are the only Giants pitchers to record two no-hitters in their career. The Freak's no-hitter this week was the 16th in Giants history and the eighth in the San Francisco era.
It was MLB's third no-hitter in 32 days (Josh Beckett on May 25 and Clayton Kershaw on June 18), just the second time in the last 20 years three no-hitters have been thrown over such a short period (Johan Santana, the Mariners' staff and Matt Cain from June 1-13, 2012).
