Giants welcome Braves and Marlins to town

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - The Giants return home to AT&T Park for a seven-game homestand against the Atlanta Braves (May 12-14) and the Miami Marlins (May 15-18).

On Monday, May 12, the Giants will host Filipino Heritage Night, in partnership with the Filipina Women's Network, Filipino American Arts Exposition, Manilatown Heritage Foundation, and 600 Hands. Fans who purchase a special event ticket will receive a collector's edition Filipino Lou Seal bobblehead. Prior to the game, cultural performances will take place on the field and the Giants and their community partners will announce a donation in excess of $120,000 that will be made to the ongoing relief effort in the region of the Philippines that was devastated by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) last November. These funds were raised through the generosity of Giants fans who donated a minimum of $30 to the relief effort and in turn received a limited edition Filipino Heritage/SF tee-shirt, and through the donation of proceeds from the purchase of a special ticket to one of this season's Filipino Heritage Nights at AT&T Park.

Tuesday, May 13 is the Giants Food Drive, presented by Visa. The first 5,000 fans who donate food or $5 will receive a reusable tote bag. It is also Say Hey Tuesday as CSN Bay Area will host Yahoo! Sports Talk Live from Willie Mays Plaza. Fans are invited to come out early and watch their favorite sports analysts. The first 500 fans who come to Willie Mays Plaza and get in line at the Comcast SportsNet tent will receive a Duane Kuiper bobblehead.

Thursday, May 15, is Japanese Heritage Night at AT&T Park, in partnership with JCCCNC, JACL, Nakayoshi and San Jose Japantown. A special event ticket package includes admission to the pre-game festival in Seals Plaza from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and a collector's edition Masanori Murakami "Bust", commemorating the 50th Anniversary of his breakthrough into the Major Leagues as the first Japanese-born player. Masanori Murakami will also be in attendance to throw out the first pitch. Fans will be able to enjoy cultural entertainment, including Taiko Drummers, on the field prior to the game. Partial proceeds from every special event ticket sold will benefit local Japanese charities.

The San Francisco Giants along with the San Francisco Education Fund will honor their All Star Teachers in a pregame ceremony on Thursday, May 15. The San Francisco Education Fund believes that strong public schools are critical to San Francisco's visibility and the community must take action to ensure their success. The public call to action seeks to thank San Francisco public school teachers for their professionalism, dedication and work on behalf of our City's young people. We are trying to mobilize everyone that lives in the San Francisco to thank a teacher.

On Friday, May 16, the Giants will host their second annual Metallica Night. Special event ticket holders will receive a Metallica/Giants-themed Inflatable Guitar and Pick Set. Members of the band will be in attendance to perform the National Anthem and throw out the first pitch. Proceeds from each special event ticket sold will benefit Little Kids Rock Bay Area Chapter. Members of Metallica will also take over the @CafeSFG Twitter account, giving fans a chance to ask questions, chat and engage with the legendary rock band via twitter during the game. This will happen LIVE from the @Cafe. Hashtag #MetallicaNight.

The first 20,000 fans in attendance on Friday, May 16, will receive an Orange Friday Tim Lincecum T-Shirt, presented by AAA.

Saturday, May 17, is the Giants annual Genentech Strike Out Cancer Day. The Giants and Genentech will again team up to raise awareness for their season-long Strike Out Cancer program, which is dedicated to empowering and encouraging people affected by cancer to seek out information about treatments, support networks and educational resources. A special pre-game video will feature candidate conversations with those living with cancer, many from the Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Giants Fedora, presented by Genentech.

Saturday is also Brewfest at AT&T Park. A special event ticket package includes admission to the pregame Brewfest in Seals Plaza from 4:00-6:00 p.m., where local band, Nova Albion, will be providing live entertainment. A complimentary tasting card and a Brewfest-themed Giants koozie will also be handed out.

Sunday, May 18, is the Junior Giants Glove Drive, presented by Bank of America. Fans who donate $10 or a glove will receive a Giants pin. Sunday will also mark the Giants' second Little League Day of the season. The first 7,500 fans ages 14-and-under will receive a Buster Posey Kids T-Shirt, presented by Toyota. Little leaguers who purchased special event tickets will be able to attend a Q&A session with current Giants players and coaches, and will participate in a parade around the warning track prior to the game. Following the game, all kids 14-years and younger are invited to come run the bases, presented by See's Candies.
