SAN FRANCISCO -- Back-to-back visits to AT&T Park by the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers highlight the San Francisco Giants' tentative 2010 schedule, which was released Tuesday.
The Giants' third Interleague encounter with Boston is scheduled for June 25-27. San Francisco has faced the ever-popular Red Sox just twice, in 2004 (when the Giants won two out of three at home) and 2007 (when Boston recorded a three-game sweep at Fenway Park).
That series will be followed by the archrival Dodgers' first appearance of the season in San Francisco, June 28-30. The Giants' other home series against the Dodgers are slated for July 30-Aug. 1 and Sept. 14-16.
San Francisco will begin the season at Houston on April 5. The Giants' last Opening Day in the Bayou City was 2004, when Barry Bonds' three-run eighth-inning homer tied the score and helped San Francisco prevail, 5-4.
The Giants' home opener is scheduled for April 9 against Atlanta. The teams also met in an AT&T Park opener in 2006 for a game won by the Giants, 6-4.
As usual, the Giants will face the Oakland A's in home-and-home series. The cross-bay Interleague foes will meet in Oakland from May 21-23 and in San Francisco from June 11-13.
In other Interleague series, the Giants will entertain Baltimore from June 14-16 and visit Toronto from June 18-20.
San Francisco will make its first of three trips to Los Angeles to oppose the Dodgers from April 16-18. The longtime antagonists also will face off July 19-21 and Sept. 3-5 at Chavez Ravine.
The Giants' lone holiday home date will land on Memorial Day, May 31, when the Colorado Rockies visit. July 4 will find the Giants finishing a four-game series at Colorado and Labor Day (Sept. 6) has them in Phoenix to play the Arizona Diamondbacks.
San Francisco will conclude its 162-game schedule at home Oct. 1-3 against San Diego.
