Three Giants fans up for All-Star honor

Three finalists per Major League club were chosen out of thousands of nominations from across the United States and Canada of "everyday All-Stars," people who have gone above and beyond to serve their community.

Fans are invited to vote in the All-Stars Among Us campaign, a presentation of People Magazine and Major League Baseball, for the 30 winners from June 8-24. One winner will be chosen as a representative of every club, and all 30 will be honored at Busch Stadium in St. Louis for the July 14 All-Star Game. One club representative also will be featured in People Magazine.

Here are the finalists for San Francisco:

• Adam Marchick of Palo Alto, Calif., believes every student should be able to afford college, so he started Glow Foundation to provide financial literacy and scholarships for first-generation college students. Since 2006, Glow has helped 380 students fund their college dreams. His vision, enthusiasm and hard work have built an organization with lasting community impact.

• Caron Tabke of San Jose, Calif., devotes her time to animal rescue and showing children how to be responsible pet owners. Through her efforts, she has saved the lives of thousands of animals and been a role model of caring and compassion.

• Kendra Robins of San Francisco is the founder of Project Night Night, which helps homeless children "one sweet dream at a time." It donates tote bags filled with childhood essentials: a security blanket, a book and a stuffed animal. The Night Night packages comfort young children in homeless shelters and promote their emotional and cognitive well-being.

The 80th Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be televised nationally by FOX Sports, in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and Sportsnet HD and televised around the world by Major League Baseball International, with pregame ceremonies beginning at 5 p.m. PT. ESPN Radio will provide exclusive national radio coverage, while MLB.com will provide extensive online coverage.
