Giants Community Fund and Giants Wives to raise funds for victims

|

The Giants Community Fund and the Giants Wives will partner this weekend to raise funds for the individuals and families affected by the Boston Marathon bombing and the fertilizer plant fire and explosion in West Texas.

On Friday, May 10, fans attending the Giants versus Braves game at AT&T Park (7:15 p.m. start) will have the opportunity to purchase a Mystery Autographed Baseball at the Giants Community Clubhouse. There will be approximately 300 Mystery Autographed Baseballs available for purchase at $80 each. These individually autographed baseballs have been signed by all players on the 2013 roster as well as coaches and alumni.

The Community Clubhouse is located on the Promenade Level of AT&T Park, directly behind home plate. Mystery Autographed Baseballs will be sold by the Giants wives and Fund staff members from the time gates open at 5:15 p.m. until they are sold out.

Fans not attending the game can participate in the online auction benefitting these two tragic events by going to www.jrgiants.org and clicking on AUCTION, beginning on Friday, May 10, and ending on Sunday, May 12.

Proceeds will be shared between One Fund Boston and POINTWEST Bank Fund. One Fund Boston was established by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino to aid the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred on April 15th at the Boston Marathon. The POINTWEST Bank Fund was created to assist victims of the fertilizer plant fire and explosion in West Texas and support individuals and families who have been affected either by loss of life or home.

The funds raised by the Giants Community Fund and the Giants Wives will be added to the $600,000 already donated by Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) to support the victims of these tragic events.
