SAN FRANCISCO, CA - The 2012 World Series champion San Francisco Giants announced their 2013 Spring Training schedule today. The Giants are scheduled to play 37 games this spring, with 34 to be played in Arizona and an additional three more in the Bay Area (two in San Francisco and one in Oakland).
San Francisco’s spring schedule will begin Saturday, February 23 at home versus the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Of the 34 games on the Giants’ Arizona spring training schedule (including split squad games), 17 will be played at its Arizona home of Scottsdale Stadium.
The Giants, who have trained in Scottsdale since 1982, will embark on their 31st Spring Training at Scottsdale Stadium. Over 168,000 fans witnessed the beginning of the Giants remarkable World Series run at Scottsdale Stadium last spring.
Manager Bruce Bochy and his Giants will host each of the Cactus League clubs at least once and will also play one game against a World Baseball Classic semi-finalist team on Thursday, March 14. The Giants will have at least one home game every Saturday throughout the Cactus League schedule and will host the Colorado Rockies on St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday, March 17.
The Giants will break camp from Arizona on March 27 and head north to play three games against their Bay Area rivals, the Oakland Athletics (March 28-30).
Season ticket packages for home games at Scottsdale Stadium will be available on December 17th via Giants Ticket Office at (415) 972-2209 or by visiting sfgiants.com. Group tickets and Suites will also be available through the Giants Ticket Office beginning December 17th at 10:00 am.
Single game tickets for contests at Scottsdale Stadium will go on-sale Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. PST (11 a.m. MST). Tickets may be purchased via phone at 1-877-4SFGTIX, online at www.sfgiants.com, or in person at either the Giants box office at AT&T Park or all Giants Dugout Stores. In the greater Phoenix area, tickets will be sold at the Scottsdale Stadium box office. Tickets are also available through all participating tickets.com outlets and www.tickets.com.
