LOS ANGELES -- Giants manager Bruce Bochy felt thrilled about the success of the Oakland A's, who completed their remarkable surge Wednesday by routing Texas to capture the American League West. "Obviously there's a huge buzz in the Bay Area," Bochy said. "It's pretty amazing what the A's have done this year. I tip my cap to them. It's great for the Bay Area. There'll be a lot of baseball there." Ths season marks only the sixth time since the A's moved to Oakland in 1968 that both Northern California big league clubs reached the postseason. It also occurred in 1971, 1989, 2000, 2002 and 2003. Oakland swept San Francisco in the 1989 World Series, which was interrupted by the Loma Prieta earthquake.
