Bochy's son goes on seven-day DL at Double-A
LOS ANGELES -- Double-A Richmond reliever Brett Bochy, son of the Giants manager, has gone on the Minor League seven-day disabled list to allow discomfort in his right (throwing) arm to ebb.

Bochy, ranked No. 20 on MLB.com's list of Giants prospects, owns a 7-3 record with a 2.53 ERA and 14 saves in 41 appearances for the Flying Squirrels. He also has struck out 69 batters in 56 1/3 innings.

"He has an extremely tired arm," Bruce Bochy said of his 24-year-old son, who underwent Tommy John elbow surgery after San Francisco selected him in the 20th round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft.

Bochy said that the Giants' braintrust has not considered promoting his son to the Majors when rosters expand in September.
