Bochy noncommittal about Mota's return
SAN DIEGO -- Manager Bruce Bochy said that he hasn't considered the appropriateness of bringing back right-hander Guillermo Mota from his suspension for performance-enhancing drug use, in the wake of left fielder Melky Cabrera's similar penalty.

Mota, who received a 100-game suspension May 7, is eligible for reinstatement Aug. 28. He's currently trying to pitch himself back into shape during a Minor League rehabilitation assignment in the Rookie-level Arizona League, where he has allowed seven runs on eight hits in 2 2/3 innings spanning two games.

"We'll cross that bridge when we get a little closer," Bochy said, regarding Mota's impending playing status.

The Giants announced Thursday that they recalled right-hander Eric Hacker from Triple-A Fresno to fill Mota's long-relief role.
