SAN FRANCISCO -- A couple of injured Giants are mending well enough that they're ready to pack their bags for Arizona to make it back to AT&T Park.

Third baseman Pablo Sandoval and second baseman Ryan Theriot are set to head to Scottsdale for extended spring training when the club hits the road for a seven-game road trip beginning Monday in Milwaukee.

"He'll work out there during the road trip," manager Bruce Bochy said of Sandoval. "He's a couple of weeks away. He started some baseball activities, swinging the bat a little bit."

Sandoval went on the 15-day disabled list May 3 with a fractured hamate bone in his left hand and underwent surgery the next day. He started throwing early this week.

Theriot went on the 15-day DL on May 11 with a right elbow strain. He was having a particularly tough month and was batting .179 in 56 at-bats for the season.

"Theriot is going to Arizona for a couple of days to try to get him some at-bats," Bochy said. "Hopefully he gets his timing at the plate before we reactivate him."
