MRI shows Sanchez's shoulder 'just a strain'
SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants received good news concerning the fragile right shoulder of rehabbing infielder Freddy Sanchez.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy said results from an MRI taken Friday showed "just a strain" and he should be able to resume his rehab in less than a week.
Sanchez said he felt something in his shoulder while practicing double plays in San Jose earlier this week.
The plan is to keep him in San Francisco for a few days to take batting practice and then to carefully ease him back into his rehab assignment, which was cut short Thursday.
