SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Giants closer Brian Wilson, having recovered sufficiently from inflammation in his right elbow, will make his Cactus League debut on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners, manager Bruce Bochy said Monday. Before that, Wilson will test his arm one more time by throwing batting practice to teammates on Wednesday. Wilson performed that task for the first time on Sunday. Wilson, a three-time National League All-Star, has said that he believes he can be ready to open the season on the active roster by pitching approximately 10 exhibition innings.
Also, Bochy said that right-hander Ryan Vogelsong will throw off a bullpen mound Thursday for the first time this spring. Vogelsong, San Francisco's No. 4 starter, has been stalled by back spasms.
