SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Right-hander Tim Lincecum played catch on flat ground Wednesday, dispelling fears about the stiff back that forced him to skip his bullpen throwing session one day earlier. Manager Bruce Bochy said that Lincecum likely will throw off a bullpen mound Thursday if he feels fit. "I said this yesterday: It's pretty normal [during] Spring Training to get some stiffness in the back," Bochy said.
Right-hander Brian Wilson (throwing elbow) and left-hander Dan Runzler (left side), who are attempting to overcome injuries but have thrown freely, also are expected to throw bullpen sessions. Lincecum, Wilson and Runzler each have thrown off a bullpen mound once since workouts for pitchers and catchers began Sunday.
