SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Giants right-hander Tim Lincecum was scratched from his scheduled bullpen throwing stint Tuesday morning with a stiff back.

Lincecum threw briefly on flat ground before retiring to the athletic trainers' room to receive treatment. The injury isn't considered serious.

"Really, it's a pretty common thing in Spring Training," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "I don't see this being an issue at all. But it was pretty stiff. We weren't going to push it."

Lincecum became the second Giants pitcher to be knocked off schedule this spring. Ryan Vogelsong is expected to be shelved from 10 days to two weeks with a strained back.

Lincecum missed a start in September 2009 with back spasms. He proceeded to win his second consecutive National League Cy Young Award.
