DENVER -- Giants closer Brian Wilson threw about 30 pitches to live hitters at Coors Field on Thursday, as he continues to rehab from inflammation in his right elbow.

It was the second time throwing to hitters in three days for Wilson, who is hoping to make another appearance with the Giants this season. Thursday's series opener against the Rockies marked the 28th game Wilson has missed with the injury.

"Each time out he gets better and better," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said.

Bochy said he will sit down with Wilson and the Giants training staff on Friday to map out the next step for the closer.

The Giants skipper said it's possible that next move could be activation for Wilson, who hasn't pitched since Aug. 15.
