Rockies at the plate: Seth Smith had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Willy Tavares and Jeff Baker each had two hits and drove in a run. Yorvit Torrealba singled twice.

Giants at the plate: Kevin Frandsen tripled and scored the Giants' first run, driven in by Aaron Rowand. Rajai Davis hit a double. Clay Timpner hit a solo shot in the ninth.

Rockies on the mound: Left-hander Franklin Morales made the start in place of Jason Hirsch, who has missed his last two assignments with shoulder tendinitis. Morales threw four solid innings, allowing one run on three hits. He walked one and struck out three. He has a spring ERA of 2.00 over three appearances and nine innings.

Giants on the mound: Right-hander Pat Misch made his fourth appearance, and his first start. He pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on a hit and two walks. Closer Brian Wilson threw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.

Cactus League records: Giants 3-9-1; Rockies 6-5-1

Up next: Giants left-hander Barry Zito (0-2, 22.09) will attempt to do something about his spring ERA when he makes his third start, this one against the Royals in Surprise, Ariz., on Monday. The Royals counter with right-hander Joakim Soria (1-0, 6.75). Zito has allowed nine runs on nine hits in his first 3 2/3 innings.
