Junior Giants Stretch Drive gets under way

|
SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants have launched their third-annual Junior Giants Stretch Drive, which continues through Sunday.

A $44 donation -- Willie McCovey wore No. 44 during his Hall of Fame career with San Francisco -- will fund participation in the Junior Giants baseball program for an entire season. Donors contributing at least $44 will receive a commemorative McCovey bobblehead figurine.

Volunteers will collect donations at AT&T Park in Willie Mays Plaza and at the Community Clubhouse on the ballpark's Promenade Level. Fans also may contribute online at jrgiants.org.

The Stretch Drive was created in McCovey's honor to help the Giants Community Fund provide Junior Giants leagues for approximately 17,000 youths in more than 85 communities.
