SAN FRANCISCO -- When the Giants assigned top prospect Brandon Belt to Triple-A Fresno on Wednesday, they probably didn't expect such quick results.

Belt showed the Giants, who asked him to refine his hitting approach, in his first at-bat that he's listening. Belt hit a two-run shot against Reno Aces starter Micah Owings, who has also played in the Major Leagues, giving the Grizzlies their only runs in a 9-2 loss Saturday night.

Belt's shot landed in the parking lot beyond the right-field wall. He also drew a walk and struck out once in the contest.

Belt was in left field again Sunday and hit an RBI double in his first at-bat.
