Giants players wrap up winter ball

Winter over, spring inches closer for players

Five Giants wrapped up postseason play in their respective winter leagues -- all of their respective teams were eliminated early -- but they gained valuable playing time that could help them climb the ladder in the organization.

Here are how the five fared in the postseason in Venezuela, Mexico and the Dominican Republic:

Venezuelan Winter League

RHP Chris Begg -- Begg and the Aguilas del Zulia were eliminated from the playoffs after posting an 8-8 record in the postseason. Begg went 1-3 with a 4.74 ERA in four starts for the Aguilas.

C Guillermo Rodriguez -- The 28-year-old backstop also played for the Aguilas this winter, finishing the playoffs with a .267 average and four RBIs in 30 at-bats.

2B William Bergolla -- The Leones del Caracas managed to win just three of their 16 playoff games, eliminating them from further competition. In that time, Bergolla batted .283 with five RBIs and seven runs scored.

Dominican Winter League

3B Pedro Feliz -- The Gigantes del Cibao were eliminated from the playoffs after posting a 10-8 record. Feliz played in all 18 games and was tied for first on the squad with 11 RBIs. However, he batted just .214.

Mexican Pacific League

RHP Mitch Wylie -- The Tomateros de Culiacan were eliminated from the playoffs with a 7-7 record. Wylie pitched in just three postseason innings, but gave up four runs for a 12.00 ERA.
