Renteria headed for Triple-A rehab outing

SAN FRANCISCO -- Edgar Renteria will begin a rehab stint at Triple-A Fresno on Monday and likely will join the Giants on their next road trip, manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday.

Renteria has been on the 15-day disabled list since May 26 with a strained right hamstring, which he has tested the past two days.

Bochy said Renteria will play shortstop for the Grizzlies, but where Renteria will fit into the Giants' lineup upon his return still is up in the air.

San Francisco finishes a three-game series with Baltimore on Wednesday and then travels to Toronto and Houston on a six-game, seven-day road trip.
